ASPIRE was founded in 2012 by Dr. Dan Lorenz, DPT, PT, ATC/L, CSCS. Dr. Lorenz is a practicing physical therapist, educator, author, and speaker. In addition, Dan is also a father of two young children. He is a licensed physical therapist (PT), licensed athletic trainer (ATC/L), and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with over 15 years of practice in sports medicine. He is Kansas City’s only fellowshiip-trained physical therapist in sports medicine. He is a former athletic trainer and physical therapist for the Kansas City Chiefs and has treated athletes of all ages and athletic abilities. Dr. Lorenz has written extensively and presented numerous times on injury prevention for young athletes, in addition to being a practicing physical therapist.
The ASPIRE Board of Directors is comprised of a host of individuals from a variety of backgrounds. ASPIRE board members include a former professional football player for the Kansas City Chiefs, a priest, a pediatrician, an elementary school teacher, a father of competitive athletes, a collegiate strength coach, and the Director of Rehabilitation Services for a local hospital who has been in numerous leadership positions. Dr. Lorenz has placed ASPIRE in the hands of capable hands to guide ASPIRE and fulfill it’s mission.
